Complementing the Insurance Unit, it acts on behalf of and advises a key range of professionals. With a number of reported cases, particularly in the field of accountants, brokers and surveyors' negligence, we are regarded as one of the primary PI units in the south of England.
Depending on the terms of the PI cover being claimed against, work is carried out on behalf of individuals, firms, partnerships whilst also at the instruction of Lloyds syndicates, insurance companies and captives. We represent multi-national corporations, top 10 accountancy firms and well-known insurers; equally we welcome the work done on behalf of high street practises, southern based businesses and those entering this market afresh.
Our team includes lawyers who are also qualified within other disciplines. We have trained mediators and members who sit within the judiciary, and we are therefore well placed to encourage active dispute resolution. We would accept instruction on matters involving:-
- Financial institutions (including financial advisers, fidelity and white collar crime)
- Accountants
- Surveyors
- Insurance brokers
- Construction/Architects
- Solicitors
The unit is supplemented by our specialist Pensions Unit and the expertise of our corporate, property and environmental lawyers.
We provide the quality of advice that City training gives at a regional cost. Our belief is in forging business relationships for the long-term. That philosophy comes with the benefit of having dealt with all scales of litigation on a local, national and international basis. Full use is made of technology in reporting and case handling.
