Property Litigation

Lester Aldridge is pleased to announce a leadership transition within its highly regarded Property Litigation team, marking a new chapter of growth and continuity.

The team is well known for its excellent service offering in this specialist field, consistently earning strong rankings in both Legal 500 and Chambers UK. With a broad and dynamic practice, the team advises on core property litigation matters including property disputes, such as boundaries, easements, and restrictive covenants, as well as commercial landlord and tenant issues, including options and breaks, dilapidations, and contested lease renewals. Residential possession claims and disputes also form a key part of the team’s work.

In addition, the team supports a substantial development client base with contractual and strategic advice and has developed niche expertise in construction litigation – including advice on the Building Safety Act 2022 – as well as telecoms-related disputes.

Following many successful years leading the Property Litigation team, Kate Stewart will be handing over the Head of Team role to Rachel Gimson. Kate continues to play a central role in the team’s day-to-day practice as a senior Property Litigation partner and remains at the helm of the wider Contentious Group at Lester Aldridge. Her leadership, experience, and strategic insight continue to shape the team’s direction and success.

Rachel has become a trusted advisor to many clients and colleagues, and her leadership and dedication are being formally recognised with this transition. Her appointment reflects the team’s commitment to nurturing talent.

The team continues to expand, welcoming Georgina Galton in February 2025, with another new member joining in November. The return of Rebecca Stubbs from maternity leave later this year will further strengthen the group’s capabilities.

This evolution underscores Lester Aldridge’s ongoing investment in its people and its commitment to delivering exceptional legal services within this sector.
