Leading law firm Lester Aldridge is celebrating its 35th anniversary.
In 1988, two Bournemouth firms, Lester and Russell and Mooring Aldridge and Haydon, merged to form Lester Aldridge, although their origins can be traced back to 1796.
Over the past 35 years, Lester Aldridge has become one of the largest law firms in the South, now employing nearly 400 staff. The firm has built a national reputation in many service areas, offering legal advice for individuals and businesses on a local, national, and international scale.
Lester Aldridge’s core practice areas are real estate, litigation & recoveries, dispute resolution, corporate & commercial, private wealth and personal injury, and within these, specialist niche practices such as health & social care, marine, charities & non-profit, debt recovery and a range of international estate services.
Lester Aldridge was the first law firm in the UK authorised to act as a guarantor under the US Medallion Signature Guarantee STAMP programme. A medallion signature guarantee is a statutory requirement when managing the movement of securities and shares in North America.
International reach has steadily grown – in 2023 alone, the firm worked with clients in 49 countries across multiple practice areas.
In 2001, the firm opened a Southampton office with an emphasis on marine and commercial property. Marine became a leading area of sector expertise, and commercial property remains one of our firm’s busiest service areas.
The firm opened a London office in 2004 following a merger with Park Nelson, and 2019 saw the expansion of this office with the arrival of a residential property team from Lewis Townsend LLP.
Awards and accreditations testify to the firm’s commitment to providing the highest-quality service. We are proud to be recognised for this by Lexcel accreditation since 2007, The Law Society‘s legal practice quality mark for client care, compliance and practice management.
Last year, following an independent assessment, Lester Aldridge was awarded ISO 27001 certification, the highest international standard for information security. This year, we are proud to have achieved ISO 14001 certification, showcasing our proactive commitment to environmental management and sustainability.
