We are delighted to congratulate Maddy Nicholl, a second-year Law student at the University of Southampton and an Interventions Assistant at Lester Aldridge, on winning the LawWorks and Attorney General’s Award for Best Contribution by an Individual Student.

Maddy’s dedication to pro bono work has been exceptional. As Co-Vice President of the University of Southampton Law Clinic’s Student Committee, she played a crucial role in the clinic’s launch and has been instrumental in recruiting 150 students to support its initiatives. In addition, Maddy helped launch two ambitious new projects that provide vital services to litigants in person: a court form filling service and a McKenzie friend service.

Beyond her work at the Law Clinic, Maddy contributes to a wide range of pro bono efforts. She supports Lawyers Against Poverty by preparing resources to empower communities, delivers workshops for women’s rights charities, volunteers with the Environmental Law Foundation, and helps local businesses achieve their CSR goals. She also provides legal support through LawWorks’ Free Legal Answers platform.

This prestigious award is a well-earned recognition of Maddy’s commitment to improving access to justice and making a meaningful difference through the law. We are proud to have her as part of the Lester Aldridge team and look forward to seeing all she achieves in the future.
