On Saturday, 14 October, a dedicated team of eleven people from Lester Aldridge took part in The Big Sleep Easy, raising over £3,400 for YMCA Bournemouth. The annual event not only raises critical funds for the charity but also aims to spotlight the challenges faced by individuals experiencing homelessness. The event saw participants spending a night in makeshift shelters on the grounds of Talbot Heath School, gaining a first-hand understanding of the hardships endured by those without secure housing.
The Lester Aldridge team, comprising lawyers and business services staff, braved the elements and slept under the stars in makeshift shelters, emphasising the urgent need for safe and stable housing for all community members. Mark Benham, Partner at Lester Aldridge, conveyed his enthusiasm for the event, saying, “Lester Aldridge is deeply committed to making a positive impact in our local community. We are honoured to join forces once again with YMCA Bournemouth for the Big Sleep Easy. This event raises awareness about homelessness and supports the invaluable work of the charity in providing vital services. Our team is eager to participate and raise funds to help create a society where everyone has a safe and secure place to call home. It was fantastic to see so many local businesses participate and contribute towards the strong community feeling on the night.”
Lester Aldridge’s involvement in The Big Sleep Easy and its ongoing support of YMCA Bournemouth is part of Lester Aldridge’s ESG commitment to making a meaningful difference in the community. The law firm has sponsored and participated in this event for the past six years, raising over £23,000 for the charity.
