Five-Figure Medical Negligence Settlement by Lester Aldridge

Helen Clement, Associate in the Personal Injury team at Lester Aldridge, has secured a five-figure settlement for a client.

Our client claimed damages for personal injury arising from a negligently performed medical procedure by the defendant. As a result of the defendant’s negligence, our client had to undergo a second corrective procedure, causing her to sustain both physical and psychological injuries.

In this case, we relied on the insights of a radiologist, a plastic surgeon, and a psychiatrist. The defendant failed to respond formally on liability, so court proceedings were issued, and the claim form served to move the claim forward. The parties agreed to various stays of the remainder of the proceedings to attempt settlement of the claim.

After a period of negotiation, the claim was successfully settled.
