His work spans both contentious and non-contentious matters, and he is experienced in navigating the complex statutory and policy landscape that underpins modern planning law.
He advises on a wide variety of issues, including negotiating section 106 agreements, lawful development certificates, section 278 agreements, biodiversity net gain arrangements, conservation covenants and planning objections and appeals. Ben also undertakes detailed planning due diligence for large commercial transactions and has experience assisting on judicial review proceedings in the Planning Court.

- Undertook planning due diligence for a pan-European investment fund on 11 newly built properties within a multi‑phase redevelopment scheme in north London (total value approx. £5 million), including negotiating unprecedented planning indemnities to secure the successful acquisition.
- Drafted and submitted multiple certificates of lawfulness of existing use or development under section 191 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 across a large commercial site in the south of England.
- Advised and assisted on planning judicial review proceedings, including drafting submissions, filing and serving documents, instructing Counsel and ensuring compliance with Planning Court rules.
- Negotiated Biodiversity Net Gain contracts for a range of development schemes.
Ben began his career in the Real Estate Development team in September 2022, gaining experience across the wider development process before choosing to specialise in planning, infrastructure and environment. He qualified into the Planning, Infrastructure and Environment team in March 2026.
