Megan specialises in the administration of cross-border estates and international wills.
Megan joined Lester Aldridge as a placement student in 2016, completing her training contract and qualifying as a solicitor in 2024. Before qualification as a solicitor, Megan gained a broad range of contentious and non-contentious experience in the following areas:
- Real Estate Development;
- Residential Property;
- Litigation and Recoveries, and
- Private International Law.
Having gained extensive experience in commercial and residential property transactions, Megan is adept at bridging the gap between probate and property law. Thus, handling foreign-domiciled estates with properties located in the UK is of particular interest to Megan.
With North America attracting vast investment from around the world, Megan also specialises in the administration of cash and investments located in the USA and Canada. To support her clients with the administration of assets located in these jurisdictions, Megan regularly assists with the following:
- Interpretation of double-taxation conventions;
- Providing medallion signature guarantees;
- Preparing applications for federal tax clearance with the Internal Revenue Service.
Megan is also interested in the emerging crypto-asset industry and the intricacies involved in administering estates that include such assets.
