Emma advises and assists on a variety of legal aspects within family law such as divorce and separation, financial claims and financial settlement on divorce and cohabitation disputes. Emma also advises on child contact arrangements for parents on separation, which involves who the child will live with and the amount of contact they have with each parent, as well as contact with extended family members such as grandparents. Emma can assist clients with more specific issues within children arrangements such as schooling, name changes or relocation.
Emma provides clear and practical advice to clients and aims to obtain the best outcome possible for clients. Emma is also committed to supporting clients through what can be a stressful and difficult time.
Following the completion of her undergraduate and postgraduate legal studies, Emma joined Lester Aldridge in 2019 as a trainee solicitor to undertake her training contract. She qualified as a solicitor into the Family team in September 2021.
Recent work
- Acted for a husband where he and his wife reached a broad agreement between themselves. Emma assisted the husband in agreeing on the detail of the financial settlement so the agreement would be legally binding and negotiated favourable timeframes for him within the settlement.
- Acted for a mother where the father had made an application for a child arrangement order to secure more contact with the children. We were able to negotiate a new schedule for contact ahead of the first court hearing that suited both the mother and father and ensured the children’s social lives and academic work were not affected.
