Isabel is a Solicitor within our Health and Social Care team. She provides guidance to adult care homes, nursing homes, supported living facilities, independent hospitals, children’s homes, and schools across England and Wales, on a diverse range of legal matters.

Her role encompasses providing support to care providers challenging reports from regulatory bodies like CQC and Ofsted during the factual accuracy process. Isabel’s experience also extends to offering expert guidance on the transition from children’s continuing care to adult continuing healthcare (CHC). She actively participates in inquests, providing support and attending hearings alongside legal counsel.

Isabel plays a crucial role in contributing to regulatory due diligence for healthcare sector acquisitions. Additionally, her experience includes drafting new CMA-compliant contracts for care providers.

Before commencing her legal training, Isabel was the managing director of a successful regulated care company operating nursing and intermediate care services for 10 years and has been a board member of a care association for seven years. Isabel’s career journey provides a truly unique breadth of experience, giving her insight and understanding of the opportunities available and practical challenges faced by providers in the care sector. Isabel remains a board member of a regional care association.

The unique combination of Isabel’s legal expertise, hands-on experience in operating a care company, and her active participation in the care association highlight her dedication to this sector. Her empathy, rooted in both personal and professional experiences, aligns effectively with her legal knowledge and tenacity.

Isabel’s qualification as the first Lester Aldridge individual through the newly introduced Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE) route in 2024 solidifies her commitment to advancing her legal career in health and social care. The SQE1 and SQE2 route to qualification is a relatively new pathway for aspiring solicitors in England and Wales, designed to ensure that individuals possess the necessary skills and knowledge to practice law effectively.
