Since our last annual update it has, of course, proved a busy and challenging year for employers with workforce shortages, continued demand for flexible working and increasing sickness and performance issues. Against this backdrop, a number of changes to employment legislation have been implemented affecting holiday pay, maternity and family friendly rights. Employment Tribunal cases and awards have continued to rise, with a number of important decisions taking effect. The economic climate remains fragile with an increasing number of insolvencies and ‘fire sales’ of businesses creating a large number of issues around TUPE, redundancies and due diligence matters relating to NMW underpayments, holiday pay errors, inadequacies in RTW checks and incorrect furlough claims.

Our seminar will cover these issues with:

  • a round-up on recent and forthcoming changes, including holiday, family friendly and discrimination matters
  • a look at immigration issues and flexible working
  • how to address capability and performance issues
  • what to consider when buying or selling a business from an employment point of view
  • a review of employment statistics
