Byron specialises in international probate, assisting clients around the world with administering cross-border estates. In particular, he has a keen interest in navigating the private international law implications where common law and civil law systems interact.

Byron’s legal experience is wide-ranging and has involved both contentious and non-contentious law.  In addition to private client work, Byron’s experience includes advising on landlord and tenant matters, acting on high court IP claims, and licensing matters for bars, restaurants and festivals, giving him a broad legal background.

Byron’s first degree was in Modern Languages (with French and Spanish), before converting to law and completing the Legal Practice Course at Bournemouth University with a distinction. Byron qualified as a solicitor in 2019 and initially specialised in dispute resolution, before joining the International Private Client team at Lester Aldridge in January 2024.

Before coming to the law, Byron lived and worked around the world, teaching English as a foreign language and managing bars and restaurants.

Having spent many years living in Paris, followed by South America and the south of Spain, Byron is particularly interested matters involving French and Spanish law.  From living and working in these countries, Byron has first-hand experience of the administrative systems and the complexities that this can involve on a personal level, giving him a unique ability to assist clients with navigating these jurisdictions.  Having grown up in Australia, Byron also takes a keen interest in cases with an Australian aspect.
