Helen advises on a wide range of maritime disputes in a leisure marine and commercial shipping context, including charterparty, cargo and admiralty claims, contractual and negligence disputes and insurance claims. She also regularly drafts and advises on contractual documents and handles the sale and purchase of yachts, houseboats and commercial ships. Helen also advises port and harbour authorities on regulatory matters and the statutory running of ports and harbours, including drafting and interpreting harbour revision orders.

Helen joined Lester Aldridge in 2018 and undertook her training contract with the firm, qualifying in 2023. During her training contract, Helen gained experience in debt recovery claims, providing advice on property transactions and developments, providing property advice to ports, harbours and marinas, and advising on statutory licence requirements. Before joining Lester Aldridge, Helen gained experience working within the insurance industry, handling claims, and assisting with detecting fraudulent claims and insurance policies.
